products than any other supplier, we also know a lot
more about them. We employ one of the most fully trained,
knowledgeable, enthusiastic and helpful sales teams
anywhere in the industry. So whether you’re a
contractor, a merchant, an architect or engineer, we
can provide you with the complete masonry chemical solution.
Our chemical brochure intends to give you a simply and
concise idea of the types of products that we can provide
in this category. We are able to assist our customers
in all areas of product selection, including availability
and cost. Being a specialist means we can also provide
advice on how products can be fitted, what they can
be fitted with and a range of possible alternatives.
At Blueprint we like to get involved with our customers
projects. We’ll gladly arrange for one of our
experts to meet you on site and help you in site surveys
and determine exactly what product is needed where.
If it is appropriate we dedicate a project manager to
a contract who is responsible for the whole supply chain
process from design through to costing and delivery.
Blueprint use and invest in leading IT and stock management
systems that mean we are more likely to have the product
you want on our shelves than anyone else in the country.

Chemical admixtures are the ingredients in concrete,
other than cement, water and aggregate that are added
to the mix immediately before or during mixing. Admixtures
are classed according to function. There are six distinct
classes of chemical admixtures: air-entraining, waterreducing,
retarding, accelerating, plasticisers and speciality.
The use of air-entraining agents results in concrete
that is highly resistant to severe frost action and
cycles of wetting and drying or freezing and thawing.
Water-reducing admixtures need less water to reach a
required slump than untreated concrete and can therefore
have a lower water-cement ratio. This allows a higher
strength concrete to be produced without increasing
the amount of cement. Retarding admixtures, which slow
the setting rate of concrete, are used to counteract
the accelerating effect of hot weather on concrete setting.
Accelerating admixtures increase the rate of early strength
development, reduce the time required for proper curing
and protection, and speed up the start of finishing
operations. Plasticisers can be added to concrete to
make high-slump flowing concrete. Flowing concrete is
a highly fluid but workable concrete that can be placed
with little or no vibration or compaction. All other
varieties of admixtures fall into the speciality category.
These include corrosion inhibition, shrinkage reduction,
mould reduction, workability enhancement, bonding, damp
proofing and colouring. We hold in stock a wide range
of admixtures and will gladly give advice on selection,
mixing and application according to your specific requirements.
Concrete distress in buildings and structures requires
repair solutions that are capable of withstanding severe
abrasion and chemical attack whilst also providing ease
in handling and application. We supply compounds to
repair concrete subjected to the most arduous conditions.
Our range of repair products includes high strength,
high build mortars, crack injection systems, as well
as chemical and abrasion resistant mortars.
Complementing our range of concrete repair products
is our complete line of concrete protection coatings
in a variety of durable and visually appealing finishes
for all interior and
exterior concrete applications. The range of concrete
protection products cure and seal to suit the project
in hand whether you need to enhance the concrete’s
visual appearance, repel water and stains or improve
durability.
Whether you are laying a new concrete floor or refurbishing
an existing one, our practical range of floor and coating
products includes surface hardeners, sealers and dustproofers,
dry shake toppings, selfsmoothing underlayments and
resin coating systems. We’ll gladly make recommendations
based on your specific requirements.
Elastic joint sealants provide the technical solution
to allowing movement in structures. In addition to movement,
sealants must also be able to withstand a variety of
conditions. These include atmospheric deterioration
caused by either ultra violet light or acid rain; chemical
attack in sewage, marine or industrial environments
and physical damage caused by abrasion, erosion, traffic
or vandalism. Our range of joint sealants include polysulphide
and new polyurethane technologies and can encompass
a wide variety of applications, including window frame
surrounds, cladding and curtain walling, expansive and
flexible concrete and brick and block joints. We also
stock a range to suit specifics such as waterproofing
and fire and chemical resistance.
We can provide a wide range of advanced, load bearing,
structural adhesives for the bonding of masonry, metalwork,
woodwork and plastics. The range includes emulsion polymer
isocyanates, urethanes, elastomerics, and butyls. We
can provide both rigid and flexible bonding adhesives
as well as a wide selection of hot melts. We will gladly
offer assistance and technical advice.
